The year began with August for me. That’s because I had been so busy with exams since January that I had no time for reading! This month I finally started on my challenges completing the Victorian Literature Challenge hosted by Subtle Melodrama
, and starting with the Historical Fiction Challenge hosted by Historical Tapestry
. I’ve also started on my plans for a literature blog for the students of Masters in English Literature here in Pakistan. I intend to include the courses of Punjab University
because I find it surprisingly hard to find suitable material for some of our books. Libraries are scarce and the internet, although it has a lot of great material, is not a reliable source for exams unless it’s verified.
Books I’ve read and reviewed this month:
Venetia by Georgette Heyer
The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray
Castle Dor by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and Daphne du Maurier
I am going to have an Agatha Christie page up soon with reviews as soon as I re-read her books! I’ve read all her books and enjoyed them all. It’s time I started expanding my blog! Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy all I have planned….
